Gillian Stevens and Dylan Fowler

Still and Still Moving

With the release of their debut cd 'Still and still moving', Stevens and Fowler have given us a crystallisation of almost twenty years of musical creation and performance. Their very different musical backgrounds lead to a rich collaboration.

Stevens has specialised in Early Music and Contemporary Classical music while Fowler has mainly worked in the fields of Jazz and World Music. Fowler has become an international soloist on his main instrument, guitar, while Stevens has been forging a reputation as a composer. They have a shared passion for Celtic and other folk music to which they bring a unique and magical approach.
As a duo they have collaborated with the wonderful Norwegian singer Åsne Valland Nordli, and with Timo Väänänen as part of the Finnish/Welsh Trio -Taith. With the Bulgarian musician, Nikolai Ivanov they took part in the 2007 Salon des Arts Festival in Sofia.
They have performed at Festivals in Haapavesi, Prague, Sofia, Lafkos (Greece), Aosta, Brussels and Turin. They have frequently toured in Bulgaria and occasionally even manage to perform in their home country of Wales!
In addition both have extensive experience of leading music-making workshops with adults and children, including those with disabilities.
